Irisbus Iveco’s five European industrial sites receive ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification

At the end of December 2010, Irisbus Iveco saw the culmination of its two-pronged approach to dealing with environmental issues and appropriate management of risks relating to occupational health and safety. 

As a result of this, the Irisbus Iveco sites at Annonay and Rorthais in France, Valle Ufita in Italy, Barcelona in Spain and Vysoké Myto in the Czech Republic have been awarded ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification.

At the 59th UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition in Dubai, Iveco Irisbus CEO, Pierre Fleck, stated in a press conference that the Citelis Hybrid standard and articulated buses have made a very promising start.

True to its vocation as an innovative manufacturer, and in order to meet the ever increasing requirements for vehicles with a greater respect for natural resources and the environment, Iveco Irisbus  is promoting its new Citelis "series" Hybrid models.

The first ever hybrid bus of the Irisbus Iveco Group, an articulated GX 427 by Heuliez Bus, whose technology is based on the conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy, has officially been inaugurated on January 31st 2011 at the Agglomeration Community of Greater Poitiers. The vehicle was launched in the presence of the Mayor of Poitiers, several locally elected officials and the Director of the Régie des Transports Poitevins, which runs the local public transport system under the Vitalis trade name. 

Italy’s first hybrid Citelis presented in Milan

The Citelis Hybrid, the first Iveco Irisbus vehicle with this innovative traction system to go on the road in Italy, was presented on Milan's piazza Duomo on Saturday 29 January in the presence of the city's Mayor Letizia Moratti and Elio Catania, CEO of the local public transport company ATM (Azienda Trasporti Milanesi).

From 1st of July 2010 on, Pierre Fleck has been appointed Irisbus Iveco Chief Executive Officer. Pierre Fleck, 44 years old, is graduated from the IEA in Paris (Institut Européen des Affaires). He joined Fiat Group Automobiles (FGA) in 2005 as Italy Country Manager for Parts & Services and in 2006 was appointed Executive Vice President - FGA Parts & Services (Fiat Group Automobiles).

Iveco France wins the Public Transport Innovation Award within the category “Energy and Environment”

On the occasion of the European Mobility Exhibition in Paris, the Public Transport Innovation Awards were presented on Tuesday, June 8, honouring 3 categories: ‘Energy and Environment’, ‘Accessibility, Fittings, Facilities and Design’ and ‘Intelligent Transport Systems’. 

Nominated within the "Energy-Environment" category, Iveco France has been awarded for its new ranges of diesel-electric hybrid city buses, i.e. Irisbus Citelis and HeuliezBus Access'Bus GX 327 and 427, on display in world-wide avant-premiere at the exhibition.

Twenty new Irisbus Iveco city buses, on display in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Turin, were presented on Saturday, January 16th to the local authorities by Iveco CEO Paolo Monferino and by Giancarlo Guiati and Tommaso Panero, President and CEO of GTT, the city's public transport company.

Irisbus is adding a hybrid series model to its Citelis city bus range, which is a leader in the European market.  

Over the past 15 years, Irisbus Iveco has produced 120 hybrid buses mainly for their EuroPolis and CityClass ranges, as well as several dozen battery and fuel cell vehicles.

Irisbus Iveco is now Number 2 in the local market for public transportation vehicles with a GVW of more than 8.5 tonnes. In the 12-month period ending March 2009, this corresponded to 315 units and a market share of 22%.The next 270 units will be delivered before the end of the year.

First Crealis on the road in Maubeuge

On 2nd April during a visit to the Irisbus Iveco plant in Valle Ufita, the regional councillor for transport Ennio Cascetta and Alessando Rizzardi, the sole director of Ente Autonomo Volturno, announced the regional investment of 33 million Euros for the purchase of 120 new buses.
